Ministry

Serving the Community

Like every Church of England church all over the world, All Saints’ is a place where human stories, in all their complexity and beauty, are celebrated. But at the centre of our story, is that of the conviction that, in Jesus Christ, God is with us. We believe that the purpose of all life is to worship God and enjoy him forever.

Being the Parish Church, we are here to serve the needs of our community regardless of whether any resident is a practicing Christian. We are always pleased to visit someone in need and can offer specific Christian ministries in the community, including:

  •  Private Confession
  •  The Blessing of a Home
  •  Holy Communion in the Home
  •  General home visiting (inc. care homes)
  •  The Renewal of Marriage Vows
  •  The Blessing of a Civil Marriage
  •  Prayers at home before a funeral
  •  Care of the bereaved or housebound
  •  Memorial Services
  •  Reconciliation (sometimes called ‘The Last Rites')

This is, of course, in addition to ceremonies that take place in church such as christenings, baptisms and funerals. To find out more about these, please see the link Christenings, Weddings and Funerals.
